Program Description

  • Get 6 credit hours for two intensive morning classes in downtown Madrid.
  • Learn the language, culture and art.

    Cost of the Program

    The total cost is $2,400, what includes

    AIRFARE IS NOT INCLUDED

    The program calculates that students will need approximately between $700 to $900 to cover expenses not included in the program cost or tuition (i.e.: personal expenses, private recreation, local transportation, etc.)Students who arrive earlier or stay longer in Spain or travel to other places in Europe should notify in advance the director, but it is expected from them to make their own travel arrangements. ASU reserves the right to cancel or alter the program format or to change costs in case of conditions beyond ASU's control.

    Schedule of Payments

    Student can request financial aid contacting Ms. Ann Peacock (peacockma@appstate.edu) at the Enrollment Services Office (John Thomas Hall).

    After registering in the program students are responsible for amounts owed even if they are not up to day with their payment Schedule. If a registered student withdraws from the program prior to a payment date, payment(s) that follow the date of cancellation do not need to be met. If they cancel on or after a scheduled payment date, you remain obligated for those payments. No refunds can be made of these funds (that is the $300 initial deposit and scheduled payments up to the date of cancellation). Students need to inform Faculty Program Director in writing, with copy to Meg Kennedy at the International Programs, when canceling their participation in any program. Student who have not paid in full the trip cost and tuition at the final payment date will not be allowed to participate in the program and are not eligible to a refund.

    The number of students admitted is limited. Do not wait to pick up your application package.



     
     
     
     

     

    Course Descriptions:

    Participants must have completed four semester of beginning and intermediate Spanish at the college level or the equivalent. If by Fall 2006 you are taken SNH 1040 (or equivalent) or any other Spanish class above this level, you can participate in this program.

    The program recommends students to take the following combination of classes: SNH 2010 conversational Spanish + Spain Today or SNH 4075 Advance Conversation + Art in Spain. Classes to take should be discussed with the program director before registering.
