Heltzer Honors Program
Graduate Designation

    Students who have done a considerable amount of Honors work but are majoring in departments with few or no Honors courses may be eligible to graduate with the "Heltzer Honors Program Graduate" designation. Students graduating with University Honors must complete 15 hours of Honors course work with a GPA of 3.4 in these courses; at least six of these hours must be outside the major. Honors students must also complete a three credit-hour Senior Thesis under the direction of a professor in the student's major department. For further information, see the General Bulletin or come by the Heltzer Honors Program office in East Hall.

    Each department establishes its own criteria for admitting students into honors, especially at the upper division level. See Departmental Honors for more information.
