At IKON Office Solutions, we have a rich history of providing innovative solutions that conquer our clients' unique business problems. Beginning as Alco Standard in the 1980s, we grew through the acquisition of successful, entrepreneurial organizations providing office products, high volume copying services, and document center management services backed by an in-house financing program. Acquired companies operated under their unique company identities while experiencing the solid foundation of a national organization.

In 1996, holdings expanded to include computing technology providers, and, in the last year, over 30 leading local and regional system integration firms from the US and Canada have joined the company. With the approval of our shareholders, we changed our name in January of this year from Alco to IKON Office Solutions, bringing upwards of 900 offices under one unified banner, providing the international name recognition to match the presence we possessed.
