The Student Employment Office at Appalachian State University provides
part-time job opportunities for students while they are enrolled both on and
off-campus.
The Federal Work Study Program (FWSP) is a need based work program providing jobs as a part of the students financial aid package. Applications are made through the Financial Aid Office. Placements are made in the Student Employment Office.
The Student Temporary Work Program (STWP) provides on-campus work without regard to need. Students contact employers directly to seek jobs. The Student Employment Office can provide assistance with information about job openings around campus. Many ASU students are employed under this program.
Off-Campus Jobs are listed on a bulletin board maintained at the Student Employment Office, which is currently located in the John E. Thomas Academic Support Building (Room 390) next to the Career Development Center. This list of jobs is updated daily and often contains information about 50-70 jobs.
Students, please visit summerjobs to view a variety of summer employment all across the country. If you are interested in ski resorts or cruise ships, look no further than resortjobs. However, if overseas or international jobs fascinate you, then you might want to explore overseasjobs. Finally for those who are seeking internships, possibly working with some of the top employers, please visit internjobs.
If you like, please come by the Student Employment Office and view our Summer and Seasonal Employment Manual.
It contains the most complete list of seasonal employment in national parks, dude ranches,
and resorts all across the country. If you have a floppy disk, we will be more than happy
to make you a copy of this manual.
