Interviewing Time Line Explained

All manual and preselect schedules open and close at 12:01am on the date indicated

PRS-OPEN:
This status refers to the day on which you, the student, can begin to "drop" your resume with a given company. PRS-OPEN status typically lasts for 7 full days with an extension period possible. In order to be considered for an interview with a given company who has an initial status of PRS-OPEN you must drop your resume during this 7 day period.

PRS-CLOSED:
This status refers to the day on which you, the student, can no longer "drop" your resume with a given employer who had an inital status of PRS-OPEN. When a schedule's status changes from PRS-OPEN to PRS-CLOSED our office is indicating to you the student, that we are no longer accepting resumes for this company, and we have mailed the resumes that we accumulated during the initial 7 day period (PRS-OPEN) to the employer.

PRS-FCFS:
This status refers to the list of students that an employer has selected to interview after reviewing the list of resumes that our office forwarded to the employer. PRS-FCFS status begins 4 business days prior to the actual interview date. You, the student, will be responsible for checking your 1stPlace account 4 business days before the actual interview date to see if you have been selected for an interview. If you have been selected for an interview you will then need to sign up for an individual time slot through your account. Please remember that you must sign up for a time slot if you have been pre-selected by the employer.

PRS-FCFS-ALT:
This status refers to the list of students that an employer has deemed as Alternates. Alternates are individuals who were not selected on the inital PRS-FCFS list but are individuals who were selected by the employer to fill in as "alternates" in case one or more of the initial students on the PRS-FCFS list has to cancel. Students who appear on the PRS-FCFS-ALT list may sign up for any available time slot 2 business days before the actual interview date. As in the case of PRS-FCFS students, you will be responsible to check your 1stPlace account and sign up for an interview time slot accordingly.

MANUAL:
This status refers to when an employer decides against the screening of resumes (Pre-Selection) and allows students to automatically sign up for an actual interview time on the day of the employer's visit to campus. Manual sign up begins exactly 2 weeks prior to the date of the employer's visit to campus and remains open until the schedule is full. Once a schedule is full students who are still interested in this company may choose to indicate that they would like to appear on the waiting list. Once again, you the student must be responsible for checking your 1stPlace account and signing up for interviews/waiting lists accordingly.
