The Alpha Phi Foundation
At Appalachian State, Alpha Phis strive to leave a postive mark on their
campus. Sisters of Alpha Phi assist in blood drives, collect can foods,
wash fire trucks, walk with Laps-for-Apps and Race for a Cure, and help
other organizations in their philanthropic endevors. Alpha Phi organizes
two events, one each semester, Alpha Traz and Teddy ATTACK, one which
goes to aid in the prevention and treatment of Womens' Cardiac Care, and
the other to give a little something back to the Boone community. We are
thankful for all of your support!
Alphatraz
"Without bail, you won't get out of jail!" Alphatraz is
our main fall philanthropy. Volunteers from Appalachian and the Community
are "arrested"
and
taken into
custody. While in jail the arrestees are give an Alphatraz shirt,
pizza, and
a cell phone to call their friends to make bail. Money collected
from bail goes to the Alpha Phi Foundation which goes to
Women's Cardiac Care and the Meredith McAllister Scholarship
Fund. |
Teddy ATTACK
Alpha Phis Turn Toward Achieving Community Kindness, or Teddy ATTACK,
is our main spring philanthropy. Our Sisters dedicate time, effort,
and energy to help the Watauga community. During this week of ATTACK,
Alpha Phis assisted the elderly, volunteeredat the handicap dance,
babysat for
professors, and made cupcakes for cops. Alpha Phis also volunteered
at the Humane Society, Ram's Rack, and Genesis Animal Wildlife Sanctuary.
This is Theta Nu's way to show the community that we truly care
about them! |
Adopt-A-Street
| Theta Nu has adopted Daniel Boone Drive off of 421! We collect debris
from the street to make this stretch of road more beautiful. Sisters
visit Daniel Boone Drive 2-3 times a semester, and take time to appreciate
the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains! |
