Alpha Phi participates in many activities around the Appalachian campus including Homecoming, Greek Week, Intramurals, and Parents Weekend.

Homecoming

This past year, Appalachian State University held its Homecoming festivities October 3-4, 2003. Alpha Phi participated in–lip synch, the banner contest, the float/parade contest, Homecoming King & Queen as well as enjoying Mountaineer football!

This year Alpha Phi won first place in the lip sync competition for the school! , Our sister, Anna Ruth Burgess won Homecoming Queen! Congratulations Anna Ruth! We had a great Homecoming weekend, thanks to all of our alumni!

Greek Week

In the Spring, the Greeks at Appalachian gather together to celebrate Greek life and Greek unity. Greeks participate in flag football, basketball, volleyball, obstacle courses, and relays. It is also a time for community awareness. Alpha Phi joins together with the other Greek organizations on campus to beautify Appalachian, raise money for local charities, and collect food for the food bank.
Greek Week culminates at Lip Sync, where Sororities and Fraternities put on choreographed dances–complete with costumes and backdrops! Each chapter puts on their show in front of the entire Greek community. It is an exciting and dynamic evening, and is one of the most memorable campus-wide Greek activities on Appalachian's campus!

Intramurals

Alpha Phi is actively involved in Intramurals at ASU. We have teams for soccer, basketball, flag football, and volleyball. In fact, the Alpha Phi Volleyball team won FIRST in their division! WAY TO GO GIRLS! We are very proud of you!

Parent Weekend(s)

Parents Banquet

Our Parents Banquet is an annual dinner banquet, usually held during ASU'S Parents Weekend, where our parents/grandparents/loved ones get a chance to learn about our sororority and see what our sisterhood is all about. It is a time to show our parents how much our sisters mean to us and to let them know that we are well taken care of up at school!

Dad's Day

This is one of the many days that we take the time to thank the special men in our lives! Our Annual Dad's Day, brings dads, uncles, grandfathers, and other fantastic men, to our campus to share in the beautiful autumn weather! We serve barbecue and then watch the Mountaineers play football with our favorite guy! We always have lots of fun and make many memories!

Mom's Day

Mom's Day is our annual spring picnic on the Blue Ridge Parkway with the wonderful women in our lives! Our moms, grandmothers, aunts, and special ladies learn about Alpha Phi and what we do as a sorority. We illuminate certain aspects of our sorority such as our philanthropy, sisterhood, recruitment, and our Watchcare program. This is a perfect time to show these women how much they mean to us!
