Great work, men!
Sigma Upsilon is involved in the Adopt-a-Street program here in Boone. This is a program where organizations are given a street around town and are obligated to keep it clean and trash free. Sigma Upsilon is responsible for Hamby Alley and Howard Street, which are both located near campus behind the Dan'l Boone Inn. Every few weeks, we get together and patrol these areas, picking up trash as we go. It is a very worthwhile program and is giving the Fraternity a positive image in the community.
On November 6, 1993, Lambda Chi Alpha began an international philanthropy project that has raised more than 10.5 million pounds of food for the needy across North America. Called the North American Food Drive, this annual event has arguably become the largest single-day philanthropic project sponsored by a collegiate organization. Its success is so impressive that Lambda Chi Alpha became the first fraternity to receive the Summit Award from the American Society of Association Executives in 1995an award presented annually to associations and companies nationwide as part of its Associations Advance America Awards Program.
This is recognition our chapter has recieved in the LXA National Bulletin for the food drive..
