Welcome to ASU's
Eating Disorders &
Body Image
Information Page
You may be checking
out this site because you are concerned about yourself, a loved
one, a friend, a roommate, or because you're just curious about
these issues. We appreciate your interest. Please,
feel free to explore this and other sites, there are many things
you can do to help yourself and/or others. This site has
been developed in response to the great number of students on
our campus who suffer, and often silently, with feeling badly
about their bodies and their selves. We provide this service
so one can confidentially explore information on these topics
On this page,
in addition to an eating disorders guide,
you will find general
information, including how
to help a friend, a questionnaire
to assess eating habits, an online
screening, and a collection of chat
rooms and links to other web sites addressing eating disorders/body
image issues. These links are for information only; we do
not necessarily endorse their content.
We also provide
confidential counseling services to our students and invite as
well as encourage you, to come in and talk to one of our staff
members. Often times, students may be afraid to seek help
for fear that someone will attempt to convince them that they
need to gain weight or control their eating in some way.
This is not true. The ASU
Counseling and Psychological Services Center's
goal is to help you feel the best you can and to support you in
finding contentment. To learn more about our services, go

Currently, our
society seems to value unrealistic body images, which places demands
on individuals to conform to standards that are often impossible
to achieve. Please follow the link below to explore cultural
