The Alcohol and Drug Assistance Program is available to assist students with individual concerns, needs, and questions pertaining to the complex topic of substance use and abuse. Confidential assessment and on-going counseling is offered, as well as weekly support groups and education classes.
Alcohol and Drug Use Evaluation
Individual, confidential assessment offers you an opportunity to form a more objective perspective of your substance use through examination of personal risk factors and behaviors. Recommendations, education, and on-going support are offered as needed.
Alcohol and Drug Counseling
Individual counseling is offered to students seeking to maintain recovery from substance use or seeking to make consistent low-risk lifestyle choices.
Recovery Support Group
This weekly support group is offered for students who have experienced problems or dependency from alcohol or drug abuse, and seek to maintain a healthy, sober lifestyle. You will have opportunities to discuss mutual concerns, needs and experiences in a supportive environment.
Alcohol and Drug Education
A weekly education program is offered to provide information and discussion of issues relevant to college students concerning alcohol and drug use and abuse.
A four hour prevention seminar is offered each semester based on the risk-reduction model, providing accurate information about individual biological risk for addiction and specific low-risk guidelines that can provide a lifetime of problem prevention. This program is called "On Campus Talking About Alcohol."
Wellness Peer Educators
A volunteer student group, the Wellness Peer Educators, provide interactive educational outreach programs on campus. They address issues such as alcohol and drug abuse, sexual assault, safe sex, stress management, nutrition and fitness, body art, and smoking.
Risqué Business
Risqué Business is a student theatre troupe that presents an award winning, awareness raising performance each summer to incoming Freshman students. Through the use of humor and drama the theatre troupe addresses issues such as date rape, eating disorders, drinking and driving, drug use, suicide, sexual orientation, safe sex, career decision making, and student responsibility.
