Medical Terminology
Self-Study
Speech language pathologists working in medical settings
need to be familiar with basic medical terminology. Many of the terms
you will see in medical records can be deciphered from an analysis of the
affixes and roots. The following pages will help you to learn the
meanings of commonly used affixes and roots, as well as give you practice
putting some the terms together into "real words."
The study quide is organized into easily managed units.
It is recommended that you study one new unit per week to complete the
self study during a single semester.
Good Luck!
