MUS2002 Pre-Quiz 1

Quiz 1 will require you to:

    Translate instruments/terms into english
    Write missing written or sounding pitches
    Write a familial and piano reduction from a score and analyze the chord
    Arrange a brief excerpt for a given instrumentation
    Spell and arrange a chord for a given instrumentation (as #2 below)

Given all of these tasks, you will need to be able to do any transposition quickly.

(Scoring for transpositional instruments):
NOTE: Voicing of the pitches in the upper three voices may vary, yielding several correct answers. The bass, however, is determined by the inversions. If you have any incorrect answers, try doing the whole exercise again on a separate piece of paper for practice. (Also, score order would place Clar. in A above Alto Clar. in Eb in the second example.)
