Course Description:

This class will give students the opportunity to engage in the professional video production process as they create a video program for a client or for their portfolio. Students will learn skills in pre-production planning, production and post-production editing, and they will learn to operate and maintain professional quality equipment.  Additionally, as they act as crew on one another's projects and critique one another's work, students will learn to be a part of a video production team.

Evaluation:

Weekly Assignments. (40%)  Ten times during the semester, you will be given an assignment that will give you an opportunity to practice hands-on production and editing skills and to explore ideas in class. In addition, some of these projects involve completing intermediate goals for the final video (treatment, raw footage etc.). Production exercises may be completed in teams of two, but projects related to your final video program (e.g. treatment, script, etc.) should be done alone. The projects will generally be due on Tuesdays and will be graded on a three point scale according to the following criteria:
