Description: This course will present the stories and histories of five minority groups that live or have lived in the United States. We will examine the traditional history of a group and then look at how each group is rewriting their histories today from a different vantage point, that of the minority, newly empowered, instead of a history written by their victor. Our goal is to acquire a more nuanced understanding of these minorities' histories as well as gain the skills to critique and re-view any history.
