Here are some interesting links that I find useful and entertaining:

The Children's Literature Web Guide : This website offers tons of resources regarding children's books. It's not only a guide to children's literature, but it complies different awards that books and authors have won from print and internet sources and also provides forums for discussion of books as well as resources for parents, teachers, storytellers, and writers.

Appalachian Homepage : This is the homepage of my university. If you want to know anything about Appalachian, this is the place to go. It includes activities, maps, student organizations, information about academics, and lots of other information.

Watauga Humane Society : This is the Watauga Humane Society homepage. The WHS is near and dear to my heart because that's where I got my cat, Stinky. Their page has information about adopting a pet or just volunteering your time. The page also contains a profile and picture of each animal available for adoption, as well as pictures of other pets that have been successfully adopted.

Ray's Weather : This website is very important for anyone living in or planning to visit the Boone area. Ray's weather provides forecast for Boone and the surrounding area. The weather is highly unpredictable so it's best to be prepared for everything!

WASU : This is the homepage of our college radio station, WASU. I listen to the radio a lot and it's fun to hear your friends when they DJ. The page tells about the station, how you can become a DJ, and also has a live stream so you can listen to the station online.

American Library Association : This site is an offshoot of the ALA homepage and from here, there are hundreds of kid-friendly websites for every topic imaginable. They have a website of the month and webpages for parents and teachers as well. This page is wonderful because you have so many links to other pages available.

National Geographic : I love National Geographic and the photographs that they publish. The National Geographic homepage is a great place for anyone who shares my love of nature and photography. It contains different genres of topics, such as adventure and travel or animals and nature. There is also a wonderful section for kids with tons of great games and information about the National Geographic children's magazine.
