It's still under construction, but enjoy what's here so far!
General Information
My ancestors appear to have been in the southern United States for nearly 300 years and in Mississippi for the last 150 years. Most arrived in the United States at North Carolina or Virginia and traveled slowly southwest. Nearly all of my ancestors arrived from Scotland or England, although one family seems to be from Wales and one from France.
Recent History
My cousins and I reminisce often about the great times we had growing up. Our grandparents (and later my family) lived on a farm in southern Mississippi. There were too many ways to get injured on a thousand-acre farm, and I think we found all of them. Fortunately, we have all lived beyond our teenage years - surprisingly!
The picture here is of my grandfather McLemore, me, my sister, my brother, and my dad with two newborn calves. I have one other sister, but she has always been terrified of livestock. Needless to say, she's not in this picture.

On the other side of my family is an equally colorful story, with a backwoods preacher and all the antics that entails. This photo is from Christmas in 1976. In the front row are my uncles Gary and Kirk, my dad, and my grandfather. in the back row are my grandmother, my mom, me, and my great-grandmother Ford. Don't you just love those bright pink pants?

This photo is from my wedding to Rene'. In the background are Jennifer (my cousin), Catherine (friend for a LONG time), my sisters Amanda and Andrea, Rollie (Rene's brother), Luis (Rene's uncle), and friends Jack and Pete. The wedding was held at Dunleith Plantation in Natchez, Mississippi.
And My Husband's Family
My page wouldn't be complete without information on my husband's family. His family story is quite different from mine! Below is a photo of his great-grandfather (far left) who rode with Pancho Villa. More to come!
