San Paolo - the Appalachian Geology Summer Field Camp location - is the large pale orange building peeking out from the forest at the base of the slope on the right. The city is located on the hillside and just beyond the left side of the photo. The mountain in the distance marks the beginning of the Dolomites.

Feltre's market is a most interesting place to visit and shop. You can buy anything from fresh squid to copper kettles, bath towels, locally made cheese, and power tools here. One morning per week we take time out for a couple of hours to take care of shopping, banking, and sight seeing.

During the three day-long break half-way through camp, you have the opportunity to visit Venice and the nearby island of Burano (shown here), Padua, Verona, Treviso, or other cities on your own.
