Problem Set #1 (due 9/9)

  1. Conduct a qualitative benefit-cost of Fall convocation from the (a) individual student perspective (i.e., should I go or not?) and (b) university perspective (i.e., should this event be held?).
  2. Suggest a topic/case study for a benefit-cost analysis of a campus-level university policy or program.

Problem Set #3 (due 10/14)

  1. Write a five question "general purpose" survey (i.e., don't worry about benefits and costs yet)
  2. Implement the survey with n = 1 with Google spreadsheets
  3. Implement the survey with n = 1 with Survey Monkey

Homework #4 (due 10/30)

  1. Develop an "alternatives" diagram based on the meeting with your client. Qualitatively list the various benefits and costs of each alternative. An example: PDF
  2. Write a CVM question scenario (i.e., multiple questions) and supporting questions that can be used to estimate benefits for at least one of your alternatives.
