1. Click on "Analyze"
2. Click on "Descriptive Statistics" and then "Descriptives"
3. Select the variables you wish to analyze and click "OK." SPSS calculates the sample size, minimum, maximum, mean and standard deviation: Output
4. For categorical variables (i.e., qualitative "dummy" or scale variables), click on "Descriptive Statistics" and then "Frequencies"
5. Select the variables you wish to analyze and click "OK." SPSS calculates the frequency (number of times) and percentage for each category of the variable: Output.
