This course examines the vast field of insect biology by focusing on the structure and physiology of insects and how insects interact with each other and other organisms. Lecture subjects are ecologically oriented while laboratory focuses more on the classification and ecology of insects.  A required insect collection and field trips allow students to learn collection, preservation, and identification techniques.  An emphasis in this class is an understanding of the "lives" of insects.
