Red-headed pine sawfly -Neodiprion lecontei
This widespread
folivorous insect of Pinus sp. makes an excellent model for
examining how
an elevated CO2 concentration may alter important tree-herbivorous
insect interactions.
I used this insect in experiments conducted at the
global change
research site at Duke Forest (Duke University).
Gypsy Moth - Lymantria dispar
The gypsy moth
is a widespread exotic insect which feeds on many hardwood tree
species.
Experiments conducted at the global change research site at Oak Ridge National
Laboratory shed
light on how both an increased CO2 concentration and temperature
may alter
important tree-insect
interactions.
