Dr.Wood is the Joseph F. Freeman Distinguished Professor of Insurance in the Walker College of Business at Appalachian State University. He also directs the Insurance Executive Program which is a management development program designed specifically for independent insurance agents. He earned his Doctor of Business Administration degree from Louisiana Tech University, MBA from the University of Mississippi and undergraduate degree from Delta State University.
Dave joined the Appalachian faculty in 1985 and served as Director of the Brantley Risk and Insurance Center for eleven years prior to his appointment as Freeman Professor. He teaches courses in Risk Management, Commercial Insurance and Financial Management, and enjoys motorcycle riding in his spare time.
