Brian Zimmer

This year we have a smaller group, so Brian will be running the trip solo. Brian is a volcanologist teaching in the Geology Department at App State. Field work has taken him around the world; from the arid plains of Africa to the small villages of southern Mexico to the verdant hills of the Japanese Alps. He started bringing students to Iceland in 2014, after several research trips to the island. Brian has a strong background in wilderness travel and expedition planning.
