Paper Revision Guidelines
You are welcome to revise your papers as many times as you’d like. I am more than happy to help you throughout the process, so if you have questions, please take the time to meet with me.
When I provide you with paper feedback, my aim is not to give you a detailed check list of every item that worked or that I found problematic. I try to identify the key strengths and areas for improvement. Should you want more detailed feedback, I’m willing to do so, you just need to ask for it. The result is that you can’t just make a few of word changes and re-submit the paper and expect an automatic grade change. A revision should be just that - a rethinking and re-writing of the paper. Again, merely re-submitting a paper for new feedback (and a grade) does not necessarily mean that the new paper is improved enough to warrant a grade change.
When you re-submit a paper, please include the following:
•A copy of the new paper
•A copy of the original paper (and my feedback)
•An introductory note that includes an explanation of what changes you made and how those changes directly address the details of the feedback I presented you.
Note: If you believe that I’ve made errors in judgment about your work, the way you approached the paper/project, or other aspects of what I’ve focused upon in my response to your work, I invite you to talk with me about your concerns.
Deadline: Papers must be re-submitted within 3 weeks of their being returned.
