Objective: 2.01- respond to informational materials that are read, heard, and/or viewed.

 

Materials needed:Pen and paper, and all workshop materials that are in the classroom.

 

Purpose:This minilesson is designed to orient students to the resources that are in the classroom.

 

Total time involved: 10 minutes

 

Script:�Hey everyone, before we begin the writing workshop I would like to do a small activity.We are going to spend the next 10 minutes on a scavenger hunt in the classroom.The goal is to locate the different resources in the room, so we all know where to find the things we will need for the workshop.�The list will include:

 

      Personal portfolio

      Reference books

      Markers

      Fiction books

      Non-fiction books

      Writer�s Handbooks

      Progress folders

      Assignment lists

      Other materials (The list will very from teacher to teacher)

 

 

�As you go through the rooms write down what you have found and where it is located in the room.Make a list of all the items that you will be using throughout the term.�
