Alumnus Profile: Cody Ziglar ’10

May 25, 2015

Cody Ziglar’s love of music, writing and movies led him to the English (BA) – Film Studies degree. “I floated around taking different courses in other departments until I found something I really loved,” said the 2010 graduate who is now working on his MFA in Film and Television Production at Savannah College of Art and Design.

“Film Studies was perfect for me because of the intimate classes and the professors who are so open and passionate about their subjects. I mean you get to watch movies and deconstruct them. What’s not to love?”

When he walked into the first day of Introduction to Film, Ziglar said he was floored by Dr. Craig Fischer’s wealth of knowledge and passion for engaging students in the subject matter.

“Watching him do what he loves in an art form as exciting and approachable as film had a resounding impact on me,” said Ziglar. “Pretty much every decision and move I’ve made since then has been based on what makes my life creatively fulfilling and rewarding.”

In addition to pursuing a graduate degree, Ziglar works at SCAD’s Savannah Film Studios and works in the Atlanta area on freelance production of music videos, commercials, shorts, television and features.
