Theatre Alumni Profiles

  • Hanna Fuller ’12 and Elizabeth Anderson ’10 are enrolled at world-renowned Acting Studio at Pace University, featured in the current television series, “Inside the Actors Studio.” Elizabeth is set to graduate with an MFA in Acting in 2015, Hanna in 2016. Both are preparing for showcases in New York City for area agents and casting directors.
  • Victor Rivera ’13, pictured center as a senior in “The Madwoman of Chaillot,” performed professionally for Ensemble Stage in “Treasure Island” and “Dracula” before graduation. He continued his acting career in “Dracula” at Temple Theatre, appeared in several productions at Burning Coal Theatre. A native of Raleigh, Victor has moved to Los Angeles to pursue film and television work.
  • Justin Attkisson ’09 acted in “Horn in the West” and was an intern at Blowing Rock Stage Company, where he was onstage in “Bye Bye Birdie” and “The Tempest.” After graduation, he moved to Charlotte where he is co-founder and artistic director of Appalachian Creative Theatre.

  • Theatre Arts (BA) – Theatre Performance

    Appalachian State University’s Theatre Arts (BA) – Theatre Performance degree develops well-rounded theatre artists ready to take the next step in their acting careers.

Department

  • Department of Theatre and Dance

    The Department of Theatre and Dance is one of seven departments housed in Appalachian’s College of Fine and Applied Arts. Its mission is to facilitate transformative experiences for students and the public, which cultivate compassionate, creative and collaborative communities through theatre and dance. The department also offers coursework for integrated learning through the arts to the general university student population. Its dynamic cocurricular production program provides exemplary theatre and dance experiences to departmental students, the university community and the region.   • College of Fine and Applied Arts

    The College of Fine and Applied Arts houses seven departments: Applied Design, Art, Communication, Military Science and Leadership, Sustainable Development, Sustainable Design and the Built Environment, and Theatre and Dance. The programs’ diversity provides varying perspectives, yet they unite to deliver the finest quality education.
