Thursday: Constructing classroom activities and materials around internet resources. (virtual class)
Friday: The pros and cons of online language learning.
Skills for this week
1. Become familiar with the major themes and issues surrounding instructional technologies and computer-assisted language learning
2. Find and evaluate technologies and online resources for language teaching
3. Create a web site using Google Sites.
4. Utilize existing internet resources to design classroom activities.
5. Understand and evaluate the pros and cons of online versus face-to-face learning

Goals and assignments
For Tuesday: Complete the Web Evaluation activity and come to class prepared to discuss the quality of online language resources.
For Wednesday: Come prepared to start making a website. Although we'll be using Google Sites, try to verify what program your school uses to manage classroom sites.
For Thursday: Continue working on your website and start building a "webliography" of useful web sites. Thursday is a "virtual" class but Dr. Fountain will be in the Library computer lab (026) to help with tweaking and troubleshooting. Be sure to participate in class discussion using the AsULearn discussion board.
For Friday: Come prepared to discuss the pros and cons of online learning. |
