Jacob Boy Jr. (1808-1892)Here is the only known photo--still in possession of a family member--of Jacob Boy Jr. with his wife, Ruth Malonee: Jacob is the oldest family member to be photographed, to my knowledge. The original is undated, but they both died in 1892, so the portrait would have been made around the 1880s. Like his father, he was a farmer; but unlike his father, Jacob Jr. lived in one place his entire life: the Sullivan County Tennessee farm homesteaded by Jacob Sr. in the 1790s. He and his younger brother, George, inherited the balance of his father's plantation not already apportioned to his older brothers Adam and Andrew. By 1850, both his mother, Mary Drummond Boy, and his younger brother George were living with him and his wife Ruth.
