This is my third year at Appalachian State University and my fourth year in the high country, and if I may be blunt, I am loving it all. At the university, I am a lecturer in the geology department, an organizer of the Spring Sustainability Film Series, and the faculty advisor for the Juggling Club. I teach mostly Physical and Environmental and Applied Geology lectures and labs, but have also taught a first-year seminar (A Walk in the Woods) as well as the lab component of various other geology classes.
My research is in volcanology with my most recent work taking place near Ol Doinyo Lengai in northern Tanzania. Hit the Research link for more information on this and other research projects.
