North Carolina Stay-at-home Order

Today, March 27, Governor Roy Cooper issued a stay-at-home order in an effort to help mitigate the ongoing spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) in North Carolina. This order includes Appalachian State University mandatory staff currently working on campus and is in effect from 5 p.m. on Monday, March 30 through April 29, 2020.

Only those whose physical presence is required to ensure the life, health or safety of the students currently in residence halls or to maintain essential operations or infrastructure will be working on campus. Designated employees who shall remain on campus will receive express communication from their supervisors by 5pm Monday.

Monday's communication will also speak to issues related to administrative leave and compensation for staff.

With current telework and online and alternative course delivery in place, minimal impact to the university is expected. Should university operations be significantly affected, campus will be notified via email and on the App State COVID-19 website.
