A few weeks after the teaching of the unit, the first graders were interviewed again* about their understandings of number concepts and of addition and subtraction involving sums less that twenty. Examine the segments provided from these student interviews. Focus on the shifts or changes in the students' thinking as compared to the initial interviews.
