Write a paper in which you discuss the role of the teacher in the geometry-classroom discourse, the role of the students in the discourse, and the tools used for enhancing the discourse. Give particular attention to the teacher's role in initiating and guiding the development of productive mathematical discussions in both whole-class and small-group settings.
In your report, be sure to give specific examples by referring to the lesson plan, classroom events, the teacher's comments, and the small-group work. In addition to the paper, you are expected to present an overview of your analysis to the class and to facilitate discussion on your topic.
