Write a paper in which you
describe
(a) how the students reasoning about number
and about
addition and subtraction evolved over the course of the Patterning
and Partitioning lesson sequence and
(b) how the instructional
activities supported the development of the students understanding
of these concepts.
In your paper, be sure to give specific examples by referring to the classroom video and description of the lesson sequence. In addition to the paper, you are expected to present an overview of your analysis to the class and to facilitate discussion on your topic.
